RADF Prepare for End of Ceasefire
Just over three months since a violent coup split the Republic of Abramia in two, a UN organized ceasefire is about to expire. NATO forces led by the British Army are preparing to invade the South of Abramia to recapture the capital city of Yolandi. The RADF has been bullish to both the media and international organizations about its willingness to defend its territory to the last man. AAN World News was given unprecedented access to parts of the city as the RADF quickly fortify what they can against the coming assault.
“The RADF don’t have many supplies to fortify structures, but they have lots of weapons. Here you can see a T-80 tank and an anti-air team facing to the north. No doubt British forces will be cresting over that hill in a couple of days unless peace talks can resume.”
Senior Field Correspondent Mike Johansen and his team were given a tour by a few junior officers of the RADF. The officers seemed excited for combat, they had been university students during the coup and have since been recruited to fight for their country.
“The RADF haven’t done much in terms of traditional fortifications. I’m standing by one of the few bunkers right now. Officially, the RADF are saving what little supplies are left for rebuilding following the conflict, though there are concerns that they are purposely keeping their garrisons unaltered to make it harder for the British forces to distinguish them from civilians.”
Hundreds of civilians are still in the capital city and the surounding towns. RADF and UK negotiaters have done what they can to remove the civilian population from harms way, but the RADF claim that there is “nowhere for our masses, starved by Western sanctions, can live except in harms away.”
Asked about the coming invasion, SGT. Bolik of the RADF said
My house has become a garrison for my squad. My wife and children make us food and help us keep supplies organized. I am not just defending my homeland, but my family. All of my men will lay down their lives to protect our homes from being captured. Even if this city burns to the ground it will not fall into the imperialist’s hands.
